Tire pressure/gauges

Just discovered that there may be a difference between readings on gauges. I 
put in air up to 42 psi (indicated on the pump gauge, analog gauge reads 
around the same) I just picked up a digital gauge as well and it reads 35. Am 
I to assume the digital is the most accurate and add air?
