Well, about two months ago I asked for help about a knock in my 2000 Max.
Some people told to blow it up while still under warranty! The dealer I
bought it from said drive it until it breaks! I went to another dealer after
the Mad Max shootout.(THE NOISE WAS THERE TWO MONTHS BEFORE THE RACE.) They
called me today and said you have two bad connecting rods and second gear is
bad the bike only has 1500 miles on it and IM not an animal. I do the
occasional wheelie and burnout but what the hell. The dealer asked me to pay
for the gear because Yamaha would see that as my fault for the connecting
rods do to excessive wear. He told me if he tells Yamaha about second gear
they wont fix the motor I don't get how the gear is bad after 1500 miles just
my luck I guess! Has anyone else had bad connecting rods?
