This is my first post to the list. Have read alot of good info, but my
1999 max is stock and I was wondering what the best set up for the carbs
was with stock exhaust etc. Carbs were synced and needles at 3 1\2 . Has
a vibration around 3500-4000 rpm more of a buzzing in the bars than
anything else. Does shimming the needles help with stock set up? Also I
read somewhere that Don recommended a larger pilot jet. Was this for a
stock unit. I like the looks of the stock exhaust.
By the way when I was looking for a used bike in the spring, and my
wife found a 1999 vmax leftover and purchased it for me when I was at work,
she knew I always wanted one. Now you know why I have been married for 21
years :-)
