Vern,

It sounds like the pump is bad. If you put in another pump and it works, and
you put the questionable pump on another bike and it doesn't work there,
it's the pump.

Without looking at the schematic, off the top of my head the other things
that can cause the pump to not pump are main fuse, the reserve sensor/switch
and the pressure switch in the pump itself. (that's the clicking sound when
you first fire up the bike). but....

since you tried substituting another pump and it works, that eliminates the
main fuse and the reserve switch, and the pressure switch is part of the
pump assembly. I don't think you can get another one without the whole pump
assembly from Yamaha. (I've never tried, though). If you are exceptionally
handy you can disassemble the pump and see if there's anything obviously
amiss in the pressure switch, or other circuitry in the pump, but you
probably won't be able to get parts.
