Larry,
               my best guess on the waterjacket cover is that it may keep 
direct air blast off the thermostat housing. having this happen could very 
well cause the thermostat to beleive that the coolant is cooler than it 
actually is, stay closed and fry the engine. what are these other scoops 
anyway, and whats so great about them?
               did you try a word search for "fastmax"? seems i saw it once 
myself.
