IMHO if you are not racing I would follow the recommendation. Lower tire
pressure promotes heat that reduces the life of the tire, causes cupping of
the front tire, and also makes the tire more prone to puncture. The only
benefit to less pressure is that it gives you slightly larger/better grip on
the road. I believe in following the tire manufacturing pressure
recommendation not the bike manufacture. I mean the guys that made the tire
should know more about the rubber than the guys that built the frame.
