starter grinding noise???

Hi my vmax recently got a very loud grinding noise every time
i start my motor.what is the main cause for this???!!!
I am very worried that something bad its gonna happen if 
i don't do anything about it.
PLEASE HELP ME TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM!
what are the steps needed to do etc.....
