That is your fuel pump running. When I am running my drop tanks, the
elevation of the tanks provide adequate fuel pressure to the carb bowls, and
I do not feel this. (a little benny to the drop tanks - longer fuel pump life
and if the fuel pump dies I can still go down the highway). When I took the
bike in for the oil consumption problem, I removed my tanks and noticed the -
thump-thump - through the frame at just about every street light.
