If you see something you like you should buy it. I actually saw one of
the coated hindles that DW sells last year and I thought it was a
beautiful pipe and it sounded great. Of course I saw a Two Bros
stainless this year and I thought that was even more beautiful .. the
welds and the oval can looked so nice I was really impressed .. the
glint of the stainless made it even more so. You may want to actually
get with some other Vmaxers in your area and see some of the products
on the other bikes .. It will make it a lot easier for you to make up
your mind or at least to set a point of reference when you are
checking out other products.
Except for the last two months .. I have been on this list for a very
long time and I honestly have to say that I have never seen any
complaints from anyone who bought anything from DW in regard to
quality. I do recall seeing complaints about factory direct pipes etc
that leaked air around the welds .. rusted .. etc ... I have seen some
posts in regard to how dumb some of the items might have been and a
lot of complaints about prices etc ... but you can easily make those
comparisons yourself ... buy a pipe .. have it coated etc ....... to
see if you think there is value in what you are buying. As far as VMOA
discounts etc .. you can check the VMOA web page to see what other
vendors that you are considering are offering discounts ... if that is
really important to you.
I am sure that anyone who has bought a product and feel they have been
ripped will post after seeing this .. I hope they do if that is the
information you are looking for. I can assure you however that nothing
will make you more angry with yourself than to purchase something on
another's decision and then not be satisfied with it after you have to
pay for it .. and you start saying to yourself ... "If I knew it
looked like this I would have nev...", you know how the rest of that
goes. Get out and look ... at some of the other Vmaxes.
