David,

Like everyone else says, Just two (2) socket head bolts to secure the seat.
Unlike everyone else I have NO problem with re-fueling, my fix was simple
and it came from another VMOA member and works very well. I bought a
lockable gas cap the is used by boaters, the kind that mounts on/in the gun
wall of the boat ('bout $20.00) and then went to a hardware store and
picked up a drain connector and two (2) hose clamps that fit the neck of
the boaters gas cap. Before installing the seat, remove the Max's gas cap,
work one end of the flexible connector over the throat of the Max's filler
neck push down as far as possible and install hose clamp. Repeat this
process on the other end using the lockable cap. Then install the seat.
While lowering the seat into position, reach into the hole in the seat and
guide the boat cap through and install the bolts to hold the seat in position.

The top of the filler neck on my bike is about 1" below the flap in the
seat. Works Very well for me, hope this will work for you also.

Happy ridding.
