Yes Steve that is pretty common.  About the only other options you have is 
NOS or a bigbore setup from someone like PCW which will run you about $6k to 
get 150 rwhp.  I assume that you are reffering to Hal's bike.  Youi must also 
think in terms of percentage gained.  Hal gained clse to 24% more hp.  If you 
look at what it takes to do that to any engine for example if you start with 
a 345 hp c-5 engine from a new Corvette, to duplicate Hal's results you would 
have to gain close to 90 hp.  Or on a GSXR 1300 you would have to pick over 
38 rwhp from stock.  That would be difficult for less that $3000.  About the 
only bike that you can do that with is a 1200 bandit.  But that is a horse of 
a different color.  Very de-tuned from the start as well as being the small 
block chevy of the mototcycle world.  Swap parts with about any other suzuki 
made.
