Good news: Got my OEM service manual today for my '00 Max after waiting
since last June.
Bad News: The manual that arrived was the '01 model (VMX12N) manual instead
of the one for the 99-00 years (VMX12M). Dealer says that the two manuals
are separate part numbers. The really interesting thing was that the
pictures and procedures for fork servicing showed drain holes near the
bottom of the forks. The brakes also looked somewhat different. My local
dealer has a call into Yamaha trying to figure "what's up". Think it's
possible for the new publisher to have confused pictures from earlier years?
