If you are going to go turbo you would be well advised
to at the very least to install a set of forged pistons.
Polishing and shot peening the rods will also help to
hold the motor together.
I built and own a turbo V-Max and I guaranty
that you will not be happy with 5 psi boost.
A set of pistons will cost about $600.00 thats cheap
insurance against detonation and a blown motor.
I run 8.5 to 1 Arias pistons and boost to 20 psi with no
piston problems, the difference in a stock piston and a
turbo piston is not only to do with compression ratios.
The thickness of the piston in the combustion area and ring
lands are very important WHEN detonation occurs
(not if).
