Bob I had the same problem a few months ago. I also thought locktite would
solve the problem. It did for about a day.  ive been told that the heat
cycles the fw goes through along w/ the oil in no good for the locktite I
ultimately had to change the starter clutch springs and balls, Dont wait till
you have to start all over again change em now.

Tack welding the screws int a bad idea either.
