Bill,
There is no such thing as a perfect one-size-fits-all bike.  The Vmax is a 
great bike, out of the box, but it *is* heavier than your run-of-the-mill 
tupperware torpedo.  If you're expecting to be hitting 168mph with any 
regularity there are other issues that will crop up.  Trying to steer a Vmax at 
that speed requires a little balance & muscle, not to mention cajones.  As for 
the "weave", or the "head shake" that I hear others complain of... I have yet 
to run into it.  I don't know if it's because I'm a big guy (300lbs) or that 
I'm just lucky.  If you buy and fall in love with a Vmax the way most of us 
have, you'll be willing to dump some change into it.  Most of the negative 
things you hear about the Max can be remedied with a little money and effort.

Oh... and launching will never be the same as it was with the gixxer!
