I've done the same to about 3/4 inch and have had
no problem. I've got a Kerker 4-1 pipe and shorter shocks in the back. Have
not had any clearance problems at all. Shortening the ride height will change
steering geometry and make steering slightly quicker. If you add air to the
forks it probably would make it a harsher ride, so just stick with stock
numbers.

Subject: Lowering Job
Hi guys, I was wondering what would happen if you
raised the forks by 30mm to achieve a lower, meaner stance? Would there be any
clearance problems? How will it affect the ride? If so, maybe I can add air
pressure to the fork (which would "raise" the fork, thus negate the raising of
the forks) I loosened the pinch bolts and raised the forks by about the said
amount and am hesitant to ride the thing for fear that I might damage the
fender... I've tried sitting on the bike then pushing down on the handlebars
but nothing seems to some into contact with the radiator. My Max is
quite pristine and I don't want to mess it up, I will be needing a friend's
help to restore the bike to it's previous ride height but he will only be
available next week... can you guys give me some input on this?
Thanks.
Dennis
