if you want a realy stiff fork brace, try using 7005 grade ally, it's a
stiffer, harder alloy than 6061-T6, less flexible and i would think
torsionaly much better than 6061-T6 as well.
i preseum that you are thinking of using 'billett' ally or sheet 'stainless
steel'
i recon go for billett (deep as you dare) with tight resessed fixing holes.
stainless sheet will not be torsionaly effective. (mind you stainless will
always look great, come rain or shine)
anyway thats what i will be doing when i chaing mine.

p.s 'T6' is a heat treetment apllyed after manufactur so you may need to
have this redone if you get the ally hot while you are machineing it.
