Thanks for the info Sam. I can see in the future that I'd like to have
taller gears for the freeway drone. Compared to most Max mods, $450 isn't
too bad. If you remember, when you get it installed, drop me a mail and tell
me if it's worth it and how you like it.

Gary sorry to butt in but I bought a new one from K&N Yamaha in Tulsa last
time I was in the U.S. it was about $450.00 with the VMOA discount.
It's been sitting around ever since waiting for the time I finalise my
wheel/tyre changes.
I wanted to have the flexibility available so I could fit any tyre or wheel
tyre combo without having to alter the overall final drive ratio to much.
John Furbur from RMS (VMOA website) usually has used ones for sale. As far
as I can tell they were also the standard rear on many of the European
model V-Maxes.
