Frankly, I wouldn't do the swap to a taller ratio, it keeps me from going too
high a speed, and I like the acceleration how it is. I will use it if I alter
the tyre/wheel combo to get me back to close to oem gearing.
It would however be ideal if you want to do lots of long highway miles, in that
situation the small change in acceleration won't be an issue.
John Furbur has told me many times it won't hurt acceleration, but I'm too lazy
to try it and I suppose I should. If I had a bigger capacity engine it would
also be a perfect swap.
Maybe others who have done the swap with stock or mildly modified 1200 engines
can comment on the net results they feel they got.
