Rick:
IMHO the Vgas system is the best bang for the buck to achieve mid 130's in
hp. No engine work, relatively simple to install.
The Vgas requires a different use of the throttle but only something to get
used to. As well the carbs require some personal tuning, again not a big
problem.
Throttle response is awesome as is acceleration from all points on the dial.
The decisions to make are:
1. PCW or UFO. My recommendation is UFO, however if you don't like the
outboard velocity stacks then PCW. I personally prefer UFO due to the
excellent customer service offered by Jon Cornell. Everything he does is
backed up by his dyno. The workmanship is excellent, all parts are highly
polished and tested before shipping. Only thing is, when ordering ensure
you get extra jets both main and pilot.
2. Out board or in board velocity stacks. This is an optics and IMHO a
performance issue. Some don't like the stacks sticking out and some believe
the stacks don't work very well sticking into the air stream. This is a
very personal issue and only you will be able to decide.
IMHO, Jon has provided quality products at reasonable prices and backs what
he sells with real service.
