Hmmm, all of this sounds a bit complicated. If I see it correctly, it
doesn't really matter what we do when MSan is enabled. Wouldn't it be much
easier to explicitly write some dummy values into the padding before we
serialize (only when MSan is enabled)? We know the kind of each object and
should be able to determine the padding. It's not very beautiful, but it's
a very localized change and guarded by some MSan #if.
