@ulan, we have been slowly working towards allowing larger chunks of ember
to run in the d8 shell, but still haven't made much process on this task.
What I have been doing (and it is terrible), is extracting problematic
parts of ember and removing/patching until it works in d8. *shudder*
If there are parts you know you want to run in D8, I may be able to help
with the leg work for you...
