New issue 4186 by [email protected]: V8 Python bindings
https://code.google.com/p/v8/issues/detail?id=4186
Hello,
I am a member of the Honeynet Project and the main developer of Thug, a
Python low-interaction honeyclient aimed at mimicking the behavior of a web
browser in order to detect and emulate malicious contents
(https://github.com/buffer/thug). Thug makes use of the V8 Java engine
wrapped through PyV8 (https://code.google.com/p/pyv8/) in order to analyze
malicious Javascript code.
Unfortunately PyV8 is not actively maintained by its author since long
time. While thinking about a possible solution for this issue, I thought
that it would be great having such Python bindings already in the V8 trunk
and PyV8 could be a nice starting point. A lot of projects in the honeypots
world are starting using V8 and this would greatly ease the pain to the
developers who chose to use Python for their own projects.
Thanks for the attention,
Angelo
