Not in central SC (which is probably among the hottest places on Earth). I
was on top of my trailer working around a vent one day last summer, mostly
in the shade. I made the mistake of touching an area on the skin which I'd
already polished which was in full sun. SIZZLE!  I had to use a mister
bottle to cool the skin before I could continue working. And on the first
few squirts, the water vaporized instantly. I don't think a white surface
would have gotten that hot.

So if you're in Minnesota, you're probably not going to need it. If you're
coming to SC, it wouldn't be a bad idea.
