My '95 is painted on the top, but not that far down - just at the very
top. You cannot see the white from the ground. Personally, I don't like
the look of that '72 Overlander, nor of others painted so far down.
Incidentally, here in DeKalb County, GA, the school buses are painted
white on the top (down far enough that you can see it clearly from the
ground), and the Fulton County Fire trucks are painted that way (the ones
having roofs).
