RJ - I agree that IF your windows have the locking ridge for the small
groove in the back, you would be foolish to cut it off.  I believe that the
issue is that for a Hehr "non 12" late fifties window they don't work
without modifying the back and even then they are tough to to use.  What I
think we are hoping for is a replacement retainer for NON-12 ("standard or
in my case "1000") model windows.

I tell you guys, if I'm a lying I'm a dying, you don't want to cut the
009-311 if used on Hehr "Hallmark 12's", p/n C12XX windows like in the
image Wayne sent.  Here is a scan of piece I went and got from the
garage.  It is exactly the same as the original in the image.  Those
ridges are there for a purpose and lock the strip and pane onto place.
