I started investigating putting in an AC unit in my 1961 Tradewind, I would like to put it in the spot where the central heater used to be under the sink. I accidently ran across an AC out of a truck camper, it was a through the wall design similar to a smaller window unit. I would need to cut off about 4 in. of the bottom plate and cover to make it fit. About all I would have to move is the compressor slightly and reposition the front panel controls. It is nice in that there is a plastic tray under the evaporator coil with a tube to let it drain outside. My biggest concern is making sure that there is enough air exit space for the condenser fan since I will have to take some of the outlet for it when I cut off the side. Any suggestions or opinions would be appreciated.
