My dad converted his Univolt to a solid state regulator, I think using a
circuit of my design. I've not used it on AC lately to tell. I don't
like the aluminum romex but will fix that come warm weather and some
free time.

StatPower makes a unit that seems to work well, though Jim Dunmyer who
pushed it a lot last year, lost his and is using another brand now. He
posted it's name yesterday.
