Each situation is unique, and it is always best to put the responsibility of tie sizing on the dealer. In other words, if they don't fit, the dealer is on the hook to find ones that do.Best bet is to go in knowing all you can in order to make the choices that have to be made.
If unsure where to start, use what is recommended in your manual. If trailer is too old for a manual, then start with what's on the trailer now or ask a tire dealer what will fit ("the choices").
A good rule of thumb is that if you don't have 2 fingers of clearance all around, then stick with bias ply.
