A 1993 through 1996 Buick Roadmaster Estate wagon is a very cool tow
vehicle. They are very nice and very safe cars. The majority of them came
with the trailer towing package. The 1993 gets about 21.5 mpg solo at about
72 mph. On the 1994 through 1996 the mileage dropped to 20 mpg, since (not
many people know) they came equipped with the LT1 Corvette engine and 4LE60
transmission. Both ran on regular unleaded fuel. The leather interior holds
up very well even on high mileage cars. The long wheelbase, air-leveling
suspension, extreme comfort, plentiful power, 4400 lb. weight and plentiful
storage make it an ideal tow vehicle. Not to mention the "oh so cool woody
wagon look" of the 60's which is what you would expect to see towing a
Vintage Airstream!
The only drawback about these cars is they have almost a "cult like
following" and are hard to come by and command a pretty good price! After my
Grand Canyon trip, I'm selling my Airstream B190 and the Buick Wagon will be
my primary tow vehicle for my Caravel. Although on short trips, I'll use my
1970 Buick GS Stage 1 convertible.

I do know someone with a nice tow vehicle for sale right now in Atlanta. It
is a 3/4 Ton Ford Club van with a 460 and auto/OD transmission and fully
loaded with all power options. It is in excellent condition and they want
4500.00 for it. It is two tone gray and "Airstream silver". It is currently
used to tow an Airstream. The interior looks like new.
