Set screws of all sizes can be had at most any good hardware... in this area , the 
service desk at a decent Ace Hardware would be the place to go... Bring the handle 
with you.  Installing a separate "close" handle might be the answer to pulling the 
handle off...( Rivet it to the Door)  I went through a lock replacement last year and 
the Tri-Mark lock I wound up with has a pretty good handle built into the side of the 
lock (inside)... I would think a separate handle could be fashioned that would look 
like it belonged there....
