Joy, in my experience that usually doesn't work and if it does it's a short term fix. Given the bother of taking the frige out and going through the "burping" routine reinstalling it if it works only to have the same problem again seems like double work. I'd rather replace the cooling unit as rebuilt and recharged by RV Mobile and know I've got a warranty or even install a new frige and get a three year warranty. Very annoying to be off somewhere traveling and have the frige quit working when I don't have my full compliment of tools and/or choice of suppliers.
