I just called my resident vintage Ford genius and he said:
"Just about every tow truck has such a 'charging' system" to power their
jumper cables". He thought it would be a good idea to have the battery
switch to protect the pullers battery from accidental overcharge.
He also felt that your 140 amp generator was more than adequate to directly
charge the Airstream batteries with no need to look at the Univolt.
