I'm looking to match the appearance of the original '48 Airstream,
horizontal tank with valve mounted in the sidewall, on 'top' of the tank as
it lays on its side... the horizontal DOT tanks are essentially vertical
tanks with a modified valve, laying on its side, so the valve is at one end
of the tank... Worthington makes the latter in a variety of sizes, as shown
here:

No one makes a sidewall mounted valve DOT tank any longer, hence the ASME
tank alternative...
