Thanks for the info.  What would the standard replacement be and what does it cost?

Thanks

How much voltage should a uni-volt put out when removed from the trailer,

Mine is putting out around 8.5v.

Thanks

If I recall correctly it should be around 1 volts.  The Univolt is set at
about 13.2 on a fully charged deep cycle battery instead of the 13.6 on a
regular auto battery.  I had a schematic faxed from the univolt manufacturer,
but it was not the correct one even when I had the model number and serial.
The large SCR in the Univolt is not available anymore, and a comparable one
is about $50.  I replaced it with another curcuit, and had some trouble
adjusting the voltage correctly.  Sooooo I replaced it with one of those
rebuilt convertors that have been discussed here, and use my old univolt as a
battery charger on the trucks in our fleet.  It works great!!!
