Have you tried installing the plugin via a "normal" cmd window? At least then you'd know your download is not corrupt. Although I assume you checked the signature of the download? FWIW: the MD5 i get for the 64bit file is: 9248C1AC5EB899F67F0C11740D1DA963 vagrant_1.7.2.msi
I'm curious though, why are you're doing this under Cygwin. If going with Linux, why not just build a VM with Linux and go that route. I haven't worked with Cygwin in a long, long time but as I recall, it's just some weird bastardized shell of Unix isn't it? It's not really a true OS, it's just ported tools that run under a command shell under Windows? I'm not knocking it, it's nice to have access to grep, head, tail, more, etc... under Windoze but .... I think I eventually just found native unix commands written under Windows which had much smaller foot prints than Cygwin. it was a Since one has to purchase the VMWork plugin, you have access to support from Hashicorp.
