Gentoo is The Way for distros.
DWM is The Way for window managers (http://www.suckless.org/wiki/dwm).
I'd be happy to present for DWM in a WM smackdown, but first I have to
stop lurking and actually get to at least one meeting to get a flavor of
how your presentations work!

A WM showdown could be fun.
A distro smackdown might also be worthwhile if suitably
parameterized. E.g., relative to the discussion of linux
adoption by schools & gov't, maybe require contenders
to go from post-install to a baseline config that normal
people (ahem) would find useful for doing general
computer stuff (email, web with plugins, office-type
stuff, IM, music, etc.).... you know, all those things
that don't necessarily "just work" out of the box.
A look at more esoteric tasks that certain distros can
accomplish would be interesting but perhaps pointless....
My drill can create holes! ... yeah, well can it cut boards
like my saw?! .... Maybe I'm an electrician, and I use a
drill all the time but never need a saw....
And yeah, I've gotta drag myself to a meeting too!
