Vi is so much better than Emacs!!!! Emacs isn't even really a text editor - its practically a GUI for the entire computer! I just want a terminal text editor. like "Edit" was in MSDOS-days-of-yore. If I'm going to delete a single line in a text config file from the /etc directory, say remove a line from my Debian apt.sources file, then I don't need everything Emacs offers. I'm even over-doing it by using Vi... I should be using Ed for something like that. But then I don't have any friends named Ed, so that won't work.
