It's nice to see that Ubuntu is getting some main stream press coverage...I get the Sunday Times in print, and this article is on the front page of the Business section. I'm afraid it doesn't do much to dispel the "Linux is fine for geeks, but still too rough around the edges for most of us" mythology (though it was better than an article earlier this week, which compared the R statistical computing environment to a "supercharged Excel"). It also refers to Debian as an "older version of Linux," and doesn't mention GNU at all.
But exposure is good, right? And writing an email to the author/editor which corrects these misconceptions would just make me seem like a kook, and would not actually help anything? Right?
