I've started a little project here: http://vitalvermont.com/mission The next time I update the site the mission statement will be scaled back considerably... but I was serious at the time about: " transparency in public activities, procedures and financial decisions." I am (in my mind) volunteering my services to create whatever I can that uses open source (Django, MySQL, etc..) to fill address some basic needs that I perceive as being missing. At this point, I'll be happy if It offers an events calendar that would show people events that are in their town and neighboring towns. So, how can we organize some of this energy that we have to really put some open source into some key roles? I think that (being a programmer) we need a killer app... but there are probably existing solutions that we just have to organize around. Did any opportunities to focus our energies come out of the meeting? -Jim
