Dear Zeb,

I have been a Fairpoint DSL customer for years, and have had no trouble
connecting with Ubuntu versions 6.06 through 8.10. I can use their web portal
easily with current Firefox releases. I will mention that I have found it
counter-productive to mention the word "Linux" to a support person 'cause
they'll just bail with "We don't support blah-blah".

Have you tried opening your browser and typing 10.0.0.2? That is my
(everyone's?) modem address and can be helpful logging in if you know your
username and password.

I dont know what Flint means about scary Active-X, sorry.
