I googled on mini-mill. How big is one?

The Champlain Center's full name is The McClure Multi-generational Center. They
thought of that as meaning children and seniors, but I don't see why it can't
be taken literally. The building now contains a children's center, a senior
center, a couple of rented offices, and a gay-lesbian-transgender headquarters.

I doubt that the mill is a problem in and of itself. I suspect the problem is
liable to be size. The room is small--five computers on one side, a sixth at
the end, room for a table behind the five and narrow space in between. The
shelves, on the other hand, are generous. The problem there might be that the
center has them full and might have trouble finding someplace else for their
contents. But I would work hard with them to solve that problem.

In any case, whether a senior center is the way to go, a shared space is
probably economically the only way to begin.

There might be a small problem with the present users of the room, but there
aren't many of them, and if you treat them as nicely as you have treated
me--people who want to learn and who ask questions--and if you're willing to
have a couple of XP machines (at least to start with) I think we can work it
out. I don't know that I can say that I am in charge of the room, but I'm as
close to that as they have.

This is a neat idea, and would expand the age range. On the other hand,
would senior centers welcome mini-mills, etc.? But let's add this to the
pot. Let's carve out some space on the Vague wiki to collect these ideas.
