Thanks for the links. I'll look more into that too. Since we're on the topic of backup, that raises the topic of filesystems... What does the list have to say about experiences with ZFS, BtrFS, and (from a cluster POV) GFS, OCFS2?
And for those who don't know (most probably do): Mac OS X has limited support for ZFS: http://zfs.macosforge.org/trac/wiki I've used ZFS on OSX 10.5 and it has resulted in several kernel panics, strange file behavior (stats not being updated, files being read from the cli but not the gui, not being able to use mv from the cli but cut from the gui working, etc), and frequent hanging of the drive. I started using it hoping that it would be a good cross-platform file system, but as of yet I wouldn't recommend it. AJ ONeal
