You don't.  There isn't one... unless you:
- Install a local caching DNS server (I like MaraDNS)
- Install "nscd" (name-services caching daemon)

The rest of the time, it simply queries the DNS server of choice, which,
itself, is almost certainly a caching DNS server, and frequently on your
local subnet (e.g., your wireless router frequently does this).
