My experience comes from living at the bottom of King St. in Burlington. With a
$40 Radio Shack antenna, my partner and I were able to pick up just about
everything except ABC. Granted, I had to sneak up to the apartment building
roof
to mount the antenna, which was about 35 feet up (our altitude by the lake was
probably just over 100 ft.) and pointed toward Mansfield. We recently moved to
Essex Jct. (el. ~300ft) but had to be able to clear the condos between us and
Mansfield to get decent signal, but mounting the antenna in the attic was
sufficient and we can now receive ABC as well.

We don't watch much over the air TV. Jeopardy, NOVA, Nature and McLaughlin
Group
is about it. Netflix and Hulu fill in the gaps.

Enjoy!
