Hi David Its always run a little hot. I run ubuntu and when I use the up to date nvidia driver it bumps the temp up quite a bit. So I use the older one. My brother in law gave me an msi video card I figured while I had someone in there I could try to fix the cooling too, ThanksZeb

In regards to adding another fan, there is no place to add another exhaust fan within that case, but you could replace a fan with a higher CFM (Cubic feet per minute) one if you're having overheating issues. Most likely, however, it is dust build up, or the poor cable management that HP tends to be 'famous' for within their cases. The main thing to keep in mind, however, is if you're not having issues, I wouldn't worry about it. That's not saying you shouldn't clean your case and monitor your computer temperatures, but, if no problems are presented, no reason to try and fix them =) Best Regards, -- There are 10 types of people in this world. I have an hp m9040n with a IPIBL-LA (Berkeley) motherboard. I don't really know if there is room for a second fan, and if there is what type I should get. I haven't opened it up. I have a disability and lack the dexterity. Thank you Zeb
