Hello Zeb,
Are you experiencing overheating or other signs of over heating?
In regards to adding another fan, there is no place to add another
exhaust fan within that case, but you could replace a fan with a
higher CFM (Cubic feet per minute) one if you're having overheating
issues. Most likely, however, it is dust build up, or the poor cable
management that HP tends to be 'famous' for within their cases.
The main thing to keep in mind, however, is if you're not having
issues, I wouldn't worry about it. That's not saying you shouldn't
clean your case and monitor your computer temperatures, but, if no
problems are presented, no reason to try and fix them =)
Best Regards,

Hi
I need some advice on installing an extra fan. I have an hp m9040n
with a *IPIBL-LA (Berkeley) motherboard. I don't really know if
there is room for a second fan, and if there is what type I should
get. I haven't opened it up. I have a disability and lack the
dexterity.*

Hi Zeb,
Here is a link to HWMonitor which will help you see your CPU temperatures.

I believe you may have to reapply thermal paste for the CPU. Removing
the CPU heat sink might be a bit troublesome and may require
assistance. I am willing to help if you are within the Burlington
area. I recently purchased a heat-sink for my Intel 2600k and have
thermal paste to spare.
