The only concern I have is giving away control over our information flow to private companies which we don't govern. For instance, if stackoverflow was to shut down or had all varnish posts censored (not that that's likely, but just to illustrate the concern), we'd loose an important part of the project's assets. With the move to github a similar step has already been taken and I have agreed due to all the practical aspects. I see the question about where to move the mailinglist traffic as a similar thing, so: I agree for all practical aspects, but overall I dislike the centralism which is happening all over the Internet and now also with the varnish project.
