Hey is it just me or is the build process for VASSAL/VASL almost impossibly hard? It seems every time I come back to the project to contribute code I need to spend 5-7 hours just checking it out and setting up Eclipse. And by the time it's working I have lost all enthusiasm!
I followed swampwallaby's instructions on the wikki and did get a fair way but I ran into issues. I keep getting circular reference errors between VASL and CASL. It seems CASL.VASLThread has imports from the VASL module and VASL has an import from CASL. Am I going insane or is this as nuts as it seems? lol There are other errors possibly attributed to the Java version I'm using (the latest). Which version is currently being used to compile the project? So many things have been done on VASSAL/VASL but I'm confused why cleaning up the build process has not been a higher priority. There should be no need to go through two dozen different configuration dialogs in your IDE to simply compile the project. Has anyone used Ant? Ben ------------------------ Yahoo!
