Because I realize that some people do not like it when VASSAL auto-updates
out from under them, I've introduced new launch links on the VASSAL engine
download page:
http://www.vassalengine.org/community/index.php?option=com_static&dir=downloads&page=index.html&Itemid=26

The new links point to specific versions of VASSAL (2.0 through 2.4 are
available) and do not automatically update when a new version of VASSAL
comes out. The "click here to run the latest" link will continue to work
the same as does now. This will give people the option of running an older
version of VASSAL if a new update introduces a bug. If a new update is a
bug fix, e.g. 2.3.1 -> 2.3.2, then the 2.3 link will update to include the
bug fix only after it's been tested sufficiently in the field. The 2.3 link
will never update to 2.4.

We'll see how it works out. You can also always avoid auto-updates by
running the Manual Installation, but I don't archive older versions of the
Manual Installation, so it would be up to you to save a copy of the older
version before updating.
